Jasper and I met online when he was living in Texas, and I was in Montana. After I finally moved to Texas and settled in, I knew I had to meet him in person. We hit it off immediately, but there was a twist—while I was getting settled, he decided to move back to Durango, where his family has lived for several generations. Coincidentally, my grandparents and I had also quickly realized that Texas heat wasn't for us, so we made plans to return to Montana. After taking the first load back to Montana, I couldn’t stop thinking about Jasper. On my way back to Texas, I decided to take a detour to Durango to visit him for a few days. I quickly fell in love with the area, and those few days turned into six weeks. Montana no longer held the same appeal, and when Jasper asked me to be his girlfriend, I impulsively decided to make Durango my new home—it just felt right, as if everything was aligning perfectly. Together, we traveled back south to finish packing up my grandparents in Texas, with the plan of either taking them back to Montana or bringing them to Durango with us. After spending less than a week in Durango, my grandparents asked us to find a realtor. Last October, we bought a house together with my grandparents, and now we spend our days cultivating our small piece of land, chasing chickens and ducks, and loving our three fur babies. Jasper's family quickly embraced both me and my grandparents, and I couldn't have asked for a better family to become a part of.
