Plan ahead! You will need a day pass for your car & they cap the number of visitors. Also check the weather, especially for the higher elevation hikes. High winds & afternoon thunderstorms are common and often unpredictable in CO summers. Drive the scenic highway for killer views of the Rockies. Our personal hiking recommendations: Easy: Bear Lake, ~ 1 mile, walk around an alpine lake Moderate: Jewell Lake & Mills Lake, ~6 miles, 873 ft elevation gain. End around 10,000 ft, passby a waterfall and other wildlife For our experienced friends & relatives: Challenge #1: Hallet Peak across the Continental Divide, ~10.3 mi. ~3200ft elevation gain to end at 12,700ft. Unbelieveable views and exposure. Challenge #2: Mt. Chiquita (only access from sketchy dirt road): 5mi, ~2069ft ele gain, end at 13,069ft. Very windy when we went in 2019, but an incredible hike. Feel free to reach out with questions :) We recommend acclimating to Denver/Boulder/Longmont elevation for a day, prior to hiking
Attn Craft Beer Lovers: If you're in the mood for a milk stout (or any other beer style) check out Left Hand, the first craft brewery to bottle nitrogen beers and known nationally for their nitro milk stout! We love Left Hand for their variety of beers (Ryan's favorite is the Good JuJu Ginger Ale), down to Earth attitude, and community involvement
Pedestrian mall in the heart of downtown Boulder with historic storefronts, coffee shops & restaurants
The most popular, picteresque hike out of Boulder. Ryan hiked this trail with out of town friends last Fall and loved it! Plenty of interwoven route options from the trailhead and a variety of activity/skill levels too! If you want to challenge yourself with a few rock scrambles, go for it and if you'd rather stick to the dirt trail and are only in it for the views, that works too! Check the alltrails website link for directions & address ~11 mins from Courtyard, Boulder ~30 mins from Hilton Garden Inn, Longmont
