The title of tallest building in Blacksburg, Virginia, home of Virginia Tech and the Hokies, belongs to a 12 story dorm directly on campus known as Slusher Tower. In the fall of 2012, the Moore and Mahoney families each prepared to drop their eldest child on a college campus for the first time. Unbeknownst to all, a strong friendship would soon form between a New Jersey boy and a Northern Virginia girl in Slusher Tower that would develop over the period of four years, eventually blossoming into true love. The buzz of social life, duties in the classroom and trips abroad would keep the two at arms length for the majority of their time at VT. However, the under-lying chemistry became too much to deny when the pair returned for their final year as seniors in the fall of 2015. The two confessed their feelings for each other on the first weekend back at school at the famous TOTS bar in downtown Blacksburg, and never looked back. Six years later on October 16th 2021, the couple would walk the historic cobblestoned streets of Alexandria on a rainy Saturday afternoon, when Kyle got down on one knee to ask the ultimate question in front of their family, closest friends and one year old dog, Finnegan. "Finnegan and I would like to know, if you'll marry me and be our dog mom forever?" Luckily for Kyle, and Finnegan, she said yes. We can’t wait for you to join us on April 21st, 2023 to celebrate our love and the union of two Hokies who have made it all the way from Slusher Tower to the wedding altar!
