It all began as a young love between the two when they met at their summer camp! After meeting while waiting in line during one of the free time events, the two were dedicated to getting to learn more about one another and messaged back and forth for the entire ride back to Arizona and for the next week. Luke, always full of his dad jokes, told Liz "I want to practice my city driving, do you think I could come visit you?" which marked the first of many dates at Desert Ridge. Luke formally asked Liz to date on June 26th, 2016, and the two then chose to defy odds by going long distance as Liz graduated highschool moved to Tempe, AZ to begin her degree and Luke stayed in Camp Verde to attend ASU Online. After many trips up and down the mountain to each other, Luke made the leap to move to Tempe to work and attend school full time, as they built their life together in the city they call home. The beautiful couple was engaged on Janurary 1, 2021 in Sedona, AZ. Luke and Liz both graduate in May - Luke with his welding certificatie and Liz with her MSE in Electrical Engineering. The two cannott wait to start their next chapters in life as husband and wife and are so thankful for the closest of friends and for the family that has chosen to support their relationship - cheers to six years later and a wedding we wont forget. "We are SO excited to celebrate with you!" - Liz and Luke Jonas <3
Liz's family has always said "the way in which you spend New Year's Day and WHO you spend it with is how you will spend your entire year"... following this mentality Luke knew that he wanted to propose on New Years. His Christmas present was a pair of color blind correcting glasses and using the excuse that he "wanted to take nice photos in Sedona since he could see the red rocks now" Liz and Luke took a day trip with two of their closest friends. After a delcious meal and lots of laughing with their friends, the two couples headed to a trail head to take photos. When taking pictures, Liz turned around to Luke on one knee as he asked her to marry him - "Liz, I know what you always say about new year's day, and it is you who I wish to spend loving for the rest of this year and for the rest of my life - will you marry me?" Lot's of laughter and ugly crying later, the two were happily engaged and proceeded to call many of their closest friends and family to share the news. Some of the photos from the day of the engagement are on the photos tab of this website.
