DAVID: When I first met Ender, I didn't realize he would lead me to meet the love of my life. I'd met many people through Ender, but never once did I think that I would be marrying his younger sister. My earliest memories of her are of a little girl dancing and doing gymnastics in her parents' kitchen. Just as Ender and I became closer, I also grew closer to the Korkmaz clan. The more time I spent with them, the more they made me feel like family. It didn't take long to realize that I enjoyed talking to Ceylan… maybe even more than Ender! We starting talking more frequently and spending more time together. Even though I didn't know what this would lead to, I always felt our bond was special. CEYLAN: In late October, 2013, David flew home from New York for a weekend guys' trip to the Keys. Extending an invite to my friends and I, the whole group shared an inside joke about who on this trip was going to find "the one." On one of those nights, David asked me, "What if you're the one?" Of course I thought he was joking.. and just crazy! Our friendship was too good to jeopardize. But David continued to prove he was serious and finally was bold enough to tell my brother that he was in love with me. Ender thought he was joking too! After spending the next few days with this crazy idea in my head, I still couldn't put my feelings into words. And although I left David clueless to my thoughts, I secretly felt the same. Once that weekend was over. we shared our first magical "pop" kiss before David's return to New York. The following year, David moved back to Miami, and we have been together ever since..
We have made it a tradition to travel somewhere exotic each year for the holidays. In December, 2017, we flew to Japan and embarked on a cruise that sailed throughout the Japanese Islands. Our approaching December 31 three year anniversary led to some suspicion that something might happen, but the New Year came and went without incident. Little did Ceylan know, David was secretly planning a proposal. She'd imagined that New Year's Eve would be the night, but David did not pop the question that night. Instead, David was planning something special that would take place off ship. Waiting until the very last day of our trip in Japan, he booked a tour to famous Mount. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. Now, on a normal cloudy day, Mount Fuji can get lost and not be visible, but on January 4, 2018, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Mount Fuji was crystal clear in the distance, and the setting was pure magic. As we overlooked a lake with Mount Fuji in the background, David dropped onto one knee. The rest is history, and we cannot wait to celebrate our love with you!
