We met at El Cazador, the best Mexican Restaurant in Cleveland, TN, for our first date! 20 minutes in Taylor looked at me with his Taylor face (jaw slightly dropped and wide eyed) and said, "How are you still single?!" Needless to say, I was flattered and smitten. The date proceeded with Perkits ice cream and a walk on the greenway. Ever since Taylor and I were inseparable!
It was Taylor's 30th birthday and I had some suspicions- due to my sister-in-law asking me to get my nails done and Taylor getting his haircut on the day before. Brushed it off and thought, "No way he's gonna ask me on HIS birthday." Taylor picked me up from work to go to eat at Tony's in Chattanooga. We were getting close and he said, "Let's stop by this beautiful look out and get some pictures." Ok, this was another indicator- Taylor is NOT the guy who suggests getting beautiful pictures EVER. He's usually a little annoyed when I ask. I'm questioning it back and forth in my head, thinking, "REALLY?? He would ask me on HIS Birthday a day where the focus is supposed to be on him not me?!" I decide to pull my hair back just in case- and thank God I did or else you wouldn't be able to see my face in the photos past my wild hair. Anyways, we get to the lookout spot on a ridge we had hiked before on another date. We walk down, he's trying to play if off, "I wonder what's going on here?!", and I see the set up. The ABSOLUTELY UNEXPECTED part was when he pulled out a 2 page typed letter. He read the whole thing!! It was the sweetest letter anyone has ever written me and it was perfect. He knows me to the-T. I was laughing and I was crying. AMAZING!! Then he got down one on knee and asked me to marry him. After all that, I said, "I wish our families were going to be at the restaurant!" He replied, "Yeah they are already there waiting and my sister and brother in law are there too!" That topped it off and we went to celebrate the rest of the evening with the people we love most!
