The Proposal

4/12/19

Daniel proposed in a little white Chapel. This was so beautiful and intentional for many reasons It was located in Waxahachie, where we met; and it is always a place we can go and visit. The Chapel at Lakeview is apart of Assemblies of God, which is rich in family history (Daniel's dad is an A.G. Pastor, and Emma's Grandfather built A.G. Church's). Not only is it apart of our heritage, but we also graduated from Assemblies of God University. Lastly, but most importantly this new commitment was made in this Chapel before God. He is and will always be at the center of our relationship

His Perspective

It was a quick thought out proposal, the original plan fell through the night before. Originally the proposal was suppose to be in the middle of a tulip farm but the sun burnt the flowers up the day before. Searching for a second option, I came across a little white chapel that I've liked for years and thought it was perfect. Finding the venue though seemed tough but what followed was a bit more difficult because Emma was expecting something completely different. My favorite quote of the day came from Josh Bell, my mom said when you look back at this you will laugh and Josh said "Mom he's defusing a nuclear bomb right now" and that is an honest representation of what that whole afternoon of the proposal was like.

Her Perspective

I wondered all day, he's going to propose today and no not today... I had no idea where we were going, but we drove for about 20 minutes. He talked the entire way there (he told me later this was so I couldn't ask any questions) and I was thinking he had way too much coffee today. As we pulled into Lakeview and parked at this little white prayer chapel, I tried to ask "why are we at Lakeview?" but he interrupted me and said, "Hold on, let me finish." He really didn't want me to ask any questions. We parked and walked into the chapel. The lighting was perfect, he had rose petals and lanterns all over. Right in the middle of the chapel, he got on one knee, asked me to marry him and pulled out the most beautiful unique ring! Obviously, I Said Yes!
