It was the 1st of March. There he was, struggling to catch up to the bus with his hands full of bags. The bus almost took off, but someone who wanted to get on stopped the bus from leaving. This bought him some time to also catch up to the bus. Determined as he was not to miss the ride, he didn't realize that it would he one that would change his life. He headed towards the back of the bus to find a seat as he often did. It was an ordinary bus ride he had taken numerous previous times. Ordinary at least… until he saw the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen in his life. He sat behind her, too nervous to sit next to her. He decided to write something on his phone and pass it to her. Surprisingly, she wrote him back, leaving him her number when it was time for her to go. A little over a week later, they met again near Downtown Houston. They stayed on the phone until they saw each other. They embraced, and they kissed. A natural feeling of completeness washed over them. From then on, with God watching over these new lovers, they were set to embark on a new adventure.
The ring was hidden. The stage had been set. The plan was simple; he'd take her to the site of their first date. Then, they'd find a nice quiet spot. When the moment was right, he'd sing to her and ask the most important question that any man will ever ask in life. They set upon the hill at Miller Outdoor Theater, where they'd gotten to know each other just one year before. The mood was different tonight as she sat and wondered if tonight was to be the night. It was time. As he practiced many times before, he sang out the words of Jagged Edge’s “Let’s Get Married”. She stood up, hanging on to every word. When he finished singing, he got down on one knee and finally said the words; “Will you marry me?” She answered “Yes!” She accepted the ring as he slid it on to her finger. They embraced for a moment, but to them it felt like forever. As they dried their tears, they packed up and (to her surprise) headed off to her favorite restaurant for dinner. Although the time came to say goodbye, they did so knowing their lives were forever changed.
