People will be free to chose whether or not they wear masks at the ceremony, they are required on public transportation Pickup Schedule for Bus 1: Courtyard Marriott – 2:30pm Quality Inn – 2:35pm White river Inn – 2:45pm Dutton Hill - 3:00-3:05pm Pickup Schedule for Bus 2: Hanover Inn – 2:40pm Norwich Inn – 2:50pm Partridge House – 2:55pm Dutton Hill – 3:05-3:10pm

Question

What about COVID?!

Answer

We are very aware of the surge in cases related to the Delta variant, and want all of our guests to be as comfortable as possible. 99% of our guests will be fully vaccinated, the ceremony and cocktail hour (provided decent weather) will be outside, and the dinner/reception is in a large, well ventilated barn. This, combined with recent data showing the effectiveness of vaccines against symptomatic and severe disease, is quite reassuring to us. Many people are getting negative antigen tests prior to the event, which we are encouraging but not requiring. Additionally, we are taking extra precautions in the spacing of tables, and will be providing masks for those that want to wear them indoors. Those unvaccinated people will be getting both a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event, and a negative antigen test the day-of, in addition to masking indoors. With these risk mitigation strategies we hope to minimize the chances of anyone becoming ill from covid as much as possible.

Question

Which airport?

Answer

Boston Logan is generally the most convenient and economical airport to fly into. Other airports that are closer to Norwich are in Manchester, NH, Burlington, VT, and the tiny Lebanon, NH airport. These are smaller airports so can be limiting in terms of flights per day and overall cost of itineraries. However, if you favor flying into a closer airport, it's worth a search!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We have room blocks available at the Hanover Inn, 6 South Street in Hanover, and the Courtyard Marriott in Lebanon, NH. We also encourage you to call the Norwich Inn to inquire about individual room availability. This is a small, historic Inn on Main Street in Norwich and favorite local restaurant-brewery. Be sure to mention that your booking is for the Ferguson-Stadlberger (or Stadlberger-Ferguson, either should work) wedding to get our rate. Another great option in this area is Airbnb or VRBO. There are many private rooms, small cottages, and larger homes to rent, depending on your party size. We recommend looking for a place in Norwich or Hanover, for travel convenience, though the surrounding small towns offer many charming stays! If you do plan to stay further away from Norwich, be sure to utilize google maps to estimate driving distance so you can plan accordingly.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Though it's tempting not to, we would recommend renting a car so that you can explore the area at your leisure and really make the most of your journey to the Upper Valley. There is public transport in the Hanover/Norwich/Lebanon area but the hours may be somewhat limiting. Lyft/Uber are apparently available now but this is a fairly recent advancement so we aren't sure how widespread or reliable it is yet. Could be a great option for the wedding day itself if you wish to avoid driving home from the reception.

Question

Should children come to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

While ideally all kids would be running free on the hillside, the unavoidable hazards around the barn and yard, along with limited seating space in the barn, make this a challenge. For these reasons, we encourage parents to hire a babysitter for the evening. We will provide a list of recommended sitters as needed. That said, if you would prefer to have your children with you for the night, you are welcome to do so, recognizing that they will have to sit cozy with you at your places and have a close eye (or two!) on them. There are perhaps a few too many nooks and crannies and open spaces to explore, so this could be an adventure - challenge. Do note that due to space, the number of RSVPs, and any occupancy restrictions that may still be in place, this will have to be somewhat fluid and may change as the date nears. We will provide appropriate updates as more information becomes available.

Question

Is there going to be transportation to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We have hired buses and Are requiring that everyone use these as your mode of transport up to the hill. Parking on the hill is extremely limited and there will really only be room for our vendors and those family members with limited mobility. We will have a bus service picking people up at various hotels (at preset times, which will are shared under the bus schedule section on this same page) as well as in central Hanover, near the green and the Hanover Inn. The bus will be present for people towards the end of the evening if they need to leave early, as well as at the end of the night for people staying until the very end. We anticipate having two trips at the end of the night so there wont be a rush for people to leave right after the music ends. It will be a great time to relax outside at the fire pit and enjoy some fresh air

Question

Is there a rain plan?

Answer

Yes, indeed. The best meteorologist cannot predict New England weather more than 5 minutes in advance. If the clouds should rain on our parade, we will have the Ceremony itself in St Barnabas Church, which is in Norwich. In that case, we will have a shuttle to bring everyone there for the ceremony, and then up to the barn for the reception and remainder of the evening.

Question

What if I have additional questions?

Answer

Just email us (Please include both to ensure a timely response): Kateiferguson17@gmail.com, Nickcstadlberger@gmail.com. Emailing both of us is ideal, but Nick may be able to respond sooner given the fact that Katie will be in Botswana for most of the time between now and this summer. We will update this page as needed based on the volume and relevance of questions coming in through email.
