We met when we both decided to give the dating feature on Facebook a try. I, Elizabeth, wasn't serious about it and was just looking for friendship. I swiped first and David thought I was gorgeous so he swiped on me, making the match. We talked for about a week until we realized that we live less than a half a mile away from each other so I took my dog for a walk to meet David. We became friends, although David wanted more the whole time since he knew I was the one for him from day one. We got to know each other pretty well over the next 4 months before I realized I wanted more with David too. I took David to the ER for the second time in 2 weeks and when he told the registrar he wanted me added as his emergency contact she took my info then asked what my relationship to patient was and I said girlfriend. David's face lit up and later that night he officially asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes! We started talking about marriage pretty quickly and I knew he was going to ask sooner rather than later. A week after we started dating, David proposed and I said yes!
Since we knew we were wanting to get married by the end of this year or the beginning of next year, I figured I should start looking for a wedding dress. David's Bridal was having a sale so on that Thursday my mom took me to try on dresses. I actually found and purchased my wedding dress not realizing what was going to come later that day. We came home to find David grilling out for our dinner before our pastor came over to visit with the family. As soon as Pastor Kris got there we were all in the living room when David started telling me how much he loves me and wants to spend his life with me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and started doing my nervous laugh. I was not expecting to say yes twice that day but he surprised me. He sure does like to keep me on my toes!
