Before going on their first date on 8/12/2021, Jess and Joe crossed some paths in life that makes one wonder how or why they did not meet earlier on. Both come from the same background; Portuguese and having families that immigrated from the same town. To be more specific, they both danced rancho for many years performing at Portuguese feasts though in two different groups. They both spent many summers in Arcos de Valdevez as well, but everything happens for a reason. Finally in 2021, Joe recognized Jess through her Instagram page and he decided to slide in to her DMs. Hehe. After long conversations, Joe asked Jess out on date and she said yes! Joe wanted to impress Jess and was trying to decide what to plan. If you know Joe, you will not be surprised in what he decided to do. Joe asked Jess if she wanted to go to a pre-season Patriots game! So they both headed to Foxboro on a very hot day and watched the Patriots beat the Washington Commanders 22-13. Joe had a double win that day! Since then, Jess and Joe have spent a lot of time with each other. They both love trying new restaurants, hanging out with family and friends, and traveling. The most important trip they took together was Aruba in February 2023. It was Joe's first time in Aruba and he loved it. Little did Jess know that Joe was planning on proposing in Aruba, making secret plans months in advance. On 2/3/23, Joe proposed to Jess on Eagle Beach and she said Yes! Get your passports ready because they are getting married in Portugal!
