Andrea and David met through mutual friends. Initially David had heard Andrea would be at a certain event so he ensured to attend the gathering, she was a nice girl that he wanted to get to know. Andrea remembers seeing David sitting on the couch and he looked extremely tired and potentially grumpy. Andrea had recognized him, but did not intend to say hi to someone that looked grumpy. Eventually, after some liquid courage David migrated toward Andrea and they began chatting and catching up. Andrea realized David had not eaten and recommended he eat some bacon that was on the table. Andrea and David ended up chatting the whole night and being silly. Andrea and David exchanged Snapchat handles before she left the gathering and he ended up calling her the next day. Andrea was recently single and was wondering what this snapchat call was, despite not knowing how it worked - she was excited to find out and answered the call. Since that day, Andrea and David kept talking for hours at a time for the next few weeks and they knew it was something very special and unique. While Andrea and David faced many outward facing obstacles early on in their relationship, it only made their relationship stronger. Very early in the relationship, David and Andrea knew they loved each other and that they had found their perfect penguin/partner.

Andrea recently celebrated a birthday mid-October and David had planned a "belated birthday" trip to North Lake Tahoe. Andrea had suspicions that he might propose, but wasn't exactly sure. Andrea had caught David saying things here and there that didn't make sense. During the Tahoe trip, David had told Andrea to get ready for a kayaking trip (it was raining this day and it was November). Andrea was confused, but went with it. Andrea and David walked to the water where she was led to a beautiful pink floral themed picnic on the shore. Andrea thought it was a beautiful gesture and surprise for her "birthday". Andrea was still somewhat suspicious, but didn't want to get her hopes up. It wasn't until David asked her to take a walk up the pennisula where David began to share his feelings, and then he took a long pause as he was choked up. After catching his words, David continued to say how he felt about Andrea and got on one knee infront of the beautiful shore line. Andrea then said " YES" and the rest was history.
