Our Story
Ileana and Jonathan's story is a bit old-fashioned. Both meeting at Florida Atlantic University, they were young, eighteen-year old teenagers. Jonathan had asked Ileana to be his girlfriend on 08/27/2012 (nearly three weeks after first meeting). Despite feeling shy, but excitedly agreed. Ileana's 'BlackBerry tablet' device recorded the entire experience in her dorm room. It was wholesome and endearing.
Both families of the bride and groom's lineage derive back from Afro-Latino roots (Dominican Republic and Puerto-Rico). Acknowledging cultural history and taking pride in their American upbringings have been very empowering and important to them both. They continue to make it a priority to remain deeply connected to their ethnicity and faith.

"You all have been a part of our journey. We value and cherish the memories you've created with us throughout this time. Jonathan ended up proposing to me on March 11th, 2023 at the very same spot where we first met!"
