Joel’s family knew of Irene long before the couple even started talking. His aunts spent many mornings watching Irene on Fox10’s AZAM, thinking she seemed like a good match for their nephew. So on Easter Sunday 2024, when Joel casually mentioned he had a Hinge date with "some TV reporter," who had an “old name” they immediately started screaming—guessing correctly that it was Irene Snyder from Fox10. What started as a first date quickly turned into a love story filled with adventure. Over the next year and a half, Joel and Irene hiked mountains across Arizona, relaxed on beaches around the country, golfed together, explored each other's hometowns, and made several magical trips to Disney (Irene's idea of course). Joel turned out to be the perfect dog dad to little Lucy. Whether they're running along the beach together, cuddling on the couch, or traveling to new places, Lucy couldn't be happier to welcome her new favorite human to the family. She's always ready with plenty of tail wags, kisses, and unconditional love for her daddy. Plus, he spoils her with plenty of great treats! On December 15, 2025, Joel asked Irene to marry him on a secret beach at Disney's Aulani Resort in Ko Olina, Hawaii. As they strolled along the shoreline at sunset, Irene had no idea what was about to happen. Suddenly, Lucy came bounding across the sand toward her paw-rents, dressed as one of the couple's favorite Disney characters—Stitch. Waiting nearby was a beautifully arranged proposal featuring candles, lights, and even a Stitch blanket to keep the ring safely out of the sand. Hidden discreetly nearby, their Hawaiian friends Liz and Yoshi captured every unforgettable moment on camera. Surrounded by the beauty of Hawaii, some of their closest friends, and the sweetest four-legged accomplice, Joel and Irene began the next chapter of their story. It was the perfect start to their own Happily Ever After—and, as Stitch would say, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind." 💖
