As practicing Catholics, we are happy to make our vows and begin our committed life together before God and all of you! We recognize that our guests have different backgrounds. Fortunately, the priest officiating our wedding, Fr. Stephen Fields, is an excellent pastor who will make everyone feel welcome and invite you all to participate. The entire ceremony will last one hour and will include readings, the blessing of our marriage, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist.
We highly recommend taking an Uber or Lyft! Splitting one with other wedding guests will make things even easier. It's a 20-minute ride from Georgetown to Alexandria and vice-versa.
The ceremony ends at 4pm and the cocktail hour for the reception begins at 5pm. This should give you plenty of time to get from Georgetown to Alexandria. If you find that you have extra time once in Alexandria, feel free to walk around or pop into Union Street Public House and grab a drink at the Whiskey Bar downstairs! Please do not go up to the second floor until 5pm.
If you need to drive in, there is a paid parking garage on Georgetown's campus and several more near the reception venue on Union Street. However, these are difficult to find and have variable hours. We highly recommend taking Ubers, Lyfts, or cabs to get around.
