The story of Joe and Gabby starts in the most magical place on earth, Walt Disney World. When Joe met Gabby he was drawn in by her beauty and knew that from then on his life would change forever. As for Gabby, she thought Joe was funny and had a gut feeling that if they were to date he could be her forever. They got to know each other well and bonded over their love for John Mulaney and classic movies. Finally, Joe worked up the courage to ask Gabrielle out on a date, she responded by… gleefully stepping on his foot. Their first date was at Disney Springs, they drank Milkshakes and saw The Big Sick. During their date strangers would stop them to tell them how cute of a couple they were, at the time Joe and Gabrielle were embarrassed but I guess those strangers were onto something. Not even a week after their first date Florida was expecting a Hurricane. Gabrielle insisted that Joe should ride out the hurricane with her and her roommates and they would have a “Hurricane Party”. Unfortunately, what the Orlando area didn’t know was that instead of one night of severe rain like they anticipated, it was actually a category 5 hurricane. This left Joe, Gabby and her roommates stuck in the same apartment without power and water for five days. What would’ve driven some people mad only brought them closer.
As their relationship grew they began to establish their life together in Orlando. They moved into the cutest apartment in a perfect community called Celebration, Florida. They enjoyed dressing up for Disney events like Dapper Day where you could come to the parks dressed in vintage attire as if you just stepped out of a classic movie and Star Wars day where they dressed as Han Solo and Chewbacca. They began to explore life outside of Disney and fell in love as they grew as people. Joe got the opportunity to work in publishing while he even fulfilled his dream of being a published author, albeit as a ghost writer. Gabby took her first trip on an airplane and also got to travel to New York, where they visited Joe’s hometown on Long Island. They continued to build upon their relationship but realized they had outgrown the tourist environment of Orlando. They decided to move to Gabby’s hometown in Birmingham, Alabama where they adopted two cats, Jekyll and Hyde, and established a wonderful life. They often host dinner parties with their friends and enjoy cooking new recipes. Their annual tradition is seeing Casablanca at the Alabama theatre on Valentines day and they still exchange handwritten love letters. They have celebrated four anniversaries together and they continue to live the greatest love story ever told.
