The beginning of forever

Originally, Nathan and Megan met through work. They harmlessly flirted for the few months they worked together, but nothing ever came of it. A few years later they reconnected through a dating website and the rest, as they say, is history. Their relationship took off quickly and never really slowed down. They quickly fell in love, and have enjoyed life together ever since. Since coming together, they have turned one another on to several different hobbies. Avid crafters, they love spending their weekends together creating decor for their house, or other little projects. They enjoy playing tabletop games together and with their friends and family. Catch them on the right day, and you may find them making a new recipe together. Life is good, and only getting better.

The Proposal

It is important to know: Megan has a bad habit of guessing Nathan's surprises. She just has a knack for it. Leading up to the proposal, Megan had been thinking that Nathan was going to propose during her 30th birthday weekend. He had set up a girls day with one of her best friends to get their hair and nails done. He planned with their friends a trip to go out of town over that weekend. Megan was told she needed a 'fancy outfit' for the trip. All of the signs pointed to: PROPOSAL! However, Nathan had made a good case that he wasn't proposing. He couldn't afford a ring. When had he had time to go get one? Different 'excuses' and reasons to make Megan believe he wasn't going to be proposing. The weekend of Megan's birthday was perfect. They went to Westport with their friends Kortny and Joshua and spent the day at the beach. Later that night they went to their rented beach cabin and the girls got gussied up while the boys walked down to the nearby pier to see the ocean. Megan had convinced herself that this time she was wrong about his surprise. He was't proposing yet. Kortny and Megan eventually caught up with the boys, and walked down to the pier. The moment Megan saw Nathan she grew extremely nervous. For the first time in their relationship, she was nervous to be alone with him. At the end of the pier stood Nathan, waiting for his future fiance. He asked her how she liked the view (to which she cannot remember), and how she was enjoying her birthday weekend. He then asked if she would like her birthday present early. At that moment Nathan got down on one knee (sunglasses and all!) and asked Megan to spend the rest of her life with him. It was all a dream. The perfect proposal.
