Tola and I went to the same high school, but since I was a wise & busy senior and she was a freshman just starting out, our paths never crossed. Fast forward 21 years, and one random day in February 2024, she popped up on my social media feed. I noticed we had about 20 mutual friends, which was basically the universe nudging me to investigate. After a couple of weeks of wondering, 'Who is this intriguing person?' I finally sent her a message. What followed was a daily conversation marathon about life, goals, and family, and somewhere along the way, we realized, ‘Hey, this works.’ Eleven months later, we got engaged—proving that social media stalking sometimes leads to great life decisions. And now, I can’t wait to annoy her forever.

On a cold winter day in Canada, February 21, 2024 to be precise, I decided to take a break and just scroll through Instagram. I noticed that I had some unread messages in my dm and I decided to take a look and just ignore like I usually do 🫣. While reading through, I recognized one of the names of the people who sent a message that day. I proceeded to look at our mutual followers and saw we had a few friends in common. Because of this, I decided to reply to his message. During our initial conversation, we confirmed that we attended the same high school, which made sense as to why his name was familiar to me. We started chatting, which became more frequent, then sparks were flying, lol. We started dating shortly after and as they say “the rest is history.”
