love is a many splendored thing!

On December 6th of 2019, Josh & Kailey match on a dating app. According to their profiles, they are self-proclaimed "Film Fanatics". His approach begins with a thought-provoking question, "What's a movie that you think everyone should see?" Kailey responds, "Easy. Obviously it's Amelie." The conversation continued. After 300+ text messages & 4+ hour phone calls over the span of 2 weeks, Kailey drives 6 hours to ring in the new year with a man who could very easily be a serial killer AND/OR the love of her life. Their first date is dinner with Josh's parents, a choir concert, and a walk around the riverfront. Josh is hesitant to make any sort of move as he is still not quite sure if Kailey is into him or not. Kailey verbally encourages Josh to kiss her. He finally complies. A few days later, Josh comes to visit Kailey in Portland. They go on a magical date to the Portland Lights Zoo and watch 2001: A Space Odyssey (Josh's favorite). It was a perfectly perfect, blissful weekend. He was supposed to leave Sunday. That did not happen and he ended up staying until Monday morning. Kailey called in to work and said that her car broke down so she would be running late. That was not true. The first "I love you"s were confidently and effortlessly exchanged. Two months later, Josh comes back to Portland for his spring break. His return flight is booked for March 16th. During their week of fun & love, COVID-19 virus takes over and the entire world shuts down. Kailey's work goes fully remote and Josh's classes go online. He does not return to Fort Worth, TX. Kailey and Josh begin spending almost every waking moment together and manage to fall even more in love. It is considered a promising sign by many, including themselves. One year later, Josh does the impossible and somehow surprises Kailey in front of the Seattle ferris wheel by proposing that she marry him. She enthusiastically agrees and the rest is just so much love.
