On the 6th floor of SFMOMA, December 3rd, 2016, a spirited young girl met an almond-eyed architect. They worked their way through the exhibits talking the afternoon away: two sisters vs. two brothers; Bay Area vs. LA; where to find the best Korean BBQ & fried chicken; why BART is so inefficient; East Bay vs. the Peninsula; etc. Who knew cliché first date banter could be so exciting! After six floors of modern art and a few swoons over Frida Kahlo and Lichtenstein paintings, they were starving. At Pancho Villa Taqueria in the Mission, they continued to chat about architecture and planning. He expressed his frustration over city planners' restrictive design guidelines. She wholeheartedly agreed! “Why should the government care if someone wants to paint their house violet or teal?," they exclaimed with burritos in hand! I think this what they call chemistry. The second time around, they had a blast laughing and exploring the California Academy of Sciences. Claude the albino alligator winked at them and told them they made a cute couple. After endless BART rides between Oakland and SF, scrumptious dinners all around the Bay, countless adventures, comedy shows, road trips, farmers markets, and iced coffees, we are 100% in! We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with you beautiful people!
