Junella and I first met as college classmates — two students busy with our own circles and passions, barely aware of each other’s existence. But maybe that’s how it was meant to be, the right time just hadn’t come yet. Then came our second year. Life brought Junella a season of challenges, and during that time, I found myself quietly drawn to her. Every time I saw her, something stirred (wow!) — a mix of care, admiration, and the desire to be there for her. Our story didn’t start smoothly. There were hesitations and assumptions, especially on her side (fair enough!), but over time, our friendship deepened into quiet concern, genuine care, and eventually, something more. One of my favorite memories was her 18th birthday. Our class pulled off a small surprise — a fun “debut” with 18 Stick-O’s instead of 18 roses, toasted siopao, and juice with friends. It was simple, funny, and unforgettable. That dance we shared that day? Definitely something special! For two to three years, I stayed annoyingly consistent — showing up, offering small gifts, gestures of care, and a fair bit of pestering — waiting and proving my intentions were true. Somewhere along the way… hey! She started to feel the same. How did we officially become a couple? In the most Junella way possible. She gave me small capsules with notes inside, each one leading to the next until the final message: “Sinasagot na kita.” That day, she truly became my happy pill. May 1, 2019 — the day after our college graduation. Since then, we’ve grown not just as partners but as best friends — sharing travels, coffee shop dates, beach trips, laughter, and even a few misunderstandings. We’ve solved math problems together, learned about life and faith, and kept Christ at the center of it all. Now, after all these years, we’re finally ready for the next chapter, standing before God, the law, and the people we love most, to begin our forever. 🤍
