We’re delighted to welcome children at both of our wedding ceremonies! While children 3 and under won’t appear on the RSVP form, don’t worry, they are absolutely welcome to join us at all the day time events. For the reception, we kindly ask that only children aged 4 and up attend. We completely understand that many of you may be traveling with little ones, so we’ve put together a few local childcare options to help make things a little easier. These providers specialize in wedding and event care and can offer on-site childcare right in your hotel room. You're also welcome to use their services for older children if you'd prefer to enjoy the evening hands-free. Just RSVP accordingly, please. Tip: Schedule the sitter to arrive around 5:45pm (during cocktail hour) and depart a little after midnight (that's when the reception ends, officially ;)) Please contact the providers directly to book: https://eleganteventsitters.com/state-pricing/california/ https://www.jovie.com/services/wedding/ https://www.myvacationnanny.com/event-childcare/ https://nannyvillage.com/wedding-event-childcare
If your schedule allows, we recommend arriving on Wednesday or Thursday. This gives you time to settle in, explore a bit (don’t miss our Things To Do section!), and be well-rested for the big day. If that’s not possible, we suggest arriving no later than Friday afternoon to ensure you don’t miss any of the festivities!
We definitely recommend staying at the Grand Bay Hotel on Friday and Saturday! That way, you’ll have easy access to the shuttle to and from the Gurdwara for the morning ceremony, and you’ll already be on-site for rest and reset time before the afternoon events. If you’re planning to come earlier, you’re welcome to stay at the Grand Bay or wherever else you prefer, totally up to you! Personally, we think having a single home base makes everything a little easier. You can find our room block on the TRAVEL tab by clicking VIEW.
We will be providing shuttle transportation to and from the Grand Bay Hotel and the San Jose Gurdwara before and after the Sikh Ceremony so you wont need a car for the day! If you plan to get to town early to explore, there are Caltrain and Lyft/Uber/Waymo options galore!
Yes, complimentary valet and overnight parking will be available for all guests on FRIDAY and SATURDAY.
We totally understand! There will be a break between the morning and afternoon ceremonies for a siesta and some rest. However, if you'd prefer to attend just one of the ceremonies to conserve energy, please feel free to RSVP accordingly, we completely support whatever feels best for you!
We recommend wearing two outfits for the day! Morning Sikh Ceremony Women: A salwar kameez is a great choice! You’ll need to cover your head inside the Gurdwara, so something with a dupatta is ideal. Alternatively, a modest American outfit that you can comfortably sit on the floor in, paired with a shawl to cover your head, works well too. Men: A kurta or slacks with a dress shirt are both great options. Head coverings are required in the Gurdwara, so please bring a bandana. If you forget, no worries—one will be provided! Hindu Ceremony & Reception Everyone: Feel free to wear anything wedding-appropriate! Western or South Asian attire is perfectly acceptable for both events. Don’t forget to check the weather and bring a shawl or sweater in case it’s a cooler day!
