We Couldn't Be More Happy

We met officially at a dinner party at my house. Ashley actually saw him a year before and told herself that she had to date Devon, but she was too scared to talk to him sooner thinking he would reject her. It was at the dinner party when we officially met and start to hit it off. The same night one of our friends was trying to get with Ashley until Devon realized that she was the most beautiful person he has ever met and he wanted to get with Ashley first before their friend did. Devon proceeded to talk to our friend and told him he needed to back off because he wanted to be with Ashley. Finally, at the end of the night, everyone else that was at the party was drunk and Devon knew that Ashley didn't want all these drunk people over. He had everyone go to this car while he stayed behind to apologize. Once everyone got back to the car Devon told Ashley that he hadn't kissed a girl in 5 months (more like 5 weeks). Ashley couldn't believe so she grabbed him by his shirt pulled him and kissed Devon. Then Ashley told Devon that now he hadn't kissed a girl for 5 seconds. We knew that at this point we were going to do something, but the next question was what next?

We agreed during our 3rd month that if we were still together, happy, and excited to see what else each other was brought to the table that we would think about engagement. Well, 3 months later and we didn't get engaged, but Devon promised that he still wanted to be with Ashley till the day he died. So, Ashley knew there was going to be something soon, but didn't know when soon was going to be. Another and another month goes by and we are still not engaged, which at the time was still okay. Finally, between the 8th and 9th month Ashley started to get suspicious because Devon was asking his brother, close friends, and even Ashley's sister if they thought that engagement was good for us. Ashley had a little idea that something was coming up, but didn't know what. On our 9th month, Devon told Ashley that he couldn't wait any longer and had to give me a surprise. That night I just got done cooking dinner and was watching Netflix when Devon comes home from works and tells me he has Ashley's surprise. I close my eyes in case it was a big thing or not and when he said to open them he had the ring in my hand and poped the question. Will you marry me? Of course Ashley said yes becaues she wanted this for a very long time. We couldn't be happier and we are super excited to now call each other fiance.
