We love your kids -- but we want our wedding to be your night off!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Formal, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose. If you're interested in kilt rental, Ian can provide the necessary information.
Let us know of any particular dietary requirements.
As we will have exclusive use of Drumtochty Castle estate for our stay, it would be our pleasure to have you as our guest! You are welcome to stay with us Tuesday and/or Wednesday evening to make the most of the incredible location! Accommodations will be available in the castle, north and west wings, the stables, and the lodges. Let us know if you intend on staying with us at Drumtochty or if you would like suggestions for local hotels. (Cost is approximately $150 per person per night ~ depends on exchange rate) If you prefer to stay offsite, the nearest towns are Laurencekirk and Stonehaven (15 minutes away) or Aberdeen. Please let us know if you are staying outside of the castle as well.
Drumtochty Castle is within a two-hour drive of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Aberdeen is less than one hour drive time. International flights operate to/from these airports and rental cars are available. REMINDER - DRIVING IS DONE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Rail and road networks provide fast links to the rest of the UK. Laurencekirk, Stonehaven, or Montrose are the closest mainline stations. There are taxis available for hire, as well.
Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail reception will be outdoors. Dinner and dancing will be in the castle ballroom. Reminder, Scotland weather can change in an instant so plan accordingly!
