Andrew and I met through the dating app Hinge during the pandemic. He was living on the Oregon coast in Astoria, and I was in Portland. After about a month of text messages, phone calls, and Zoom dates, our first official date was on August 15, 2020. Because it was the pandemic we planned an outside date, it ended up being one of the hottest days of the year. We walked for 15 miles that day, all around the city. We talked, laughed, and sweated the entire time. The next several months of our relationship we had to make the two-hour drive back and forth between Portland and Astoria to visit each other on the weekends. In the late spring of 2021, Andrew was able to be transferred to Portland for work, and we were officially done with long distance! The next two years were spent genuinely enjoying each others company, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. On August 15, 2023, we celebrated three years together, and Andrew popped the question on Salt Spring Island in Canada. Five years later on the same day as our first date, we are celebrating our wedding day! Thank you so much for joining us on this very special day!
