Question

Do we need to have a passport?

Answer

Yes, since the wedding is in Mexico, you will need a passport. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks and costs about $100

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, we are hosting a welcome reception on the night before the wedding, Nov. 1st. See the Schedule page for more information.

Question

Update from 3/14/18

Answer

We are required to be there 3 days prior to wedding and plan to stay for another 3 days after for our honeymoon (7 nights total). We will leave NY on Tuesday, Oct 30th. We have a travel agent that we are working with to help everyone in getting the best flight and resort rates, so please use her as it helps with setting up room blocks, itineraries and overall wedding costs. We will provide contact information and details as soon as we can. If you would like 1 full day of resort enjoyment on each side of the wedding, you could travel Wednesday, have Thursday on the resort, wedding on Friday, have Saturday on the resort, and travel back on Sunday. This would be 3 days of vacation, depending on when you leave on Wednesday, and 4 nights of resort stay. You could, of course, use less vacation if you want on both sides of wedding date and also save on resort nights. You will need to pick a room type from the available rooms. The standard room, as of 3/14/18, is ~$425/night for 2 adults.

Question

More Info from 4/10 Update

Answer

They have DVF (Dedicated Vacation Flights) that are non-stop and go to Mexico every day at the same time from JFK or Philly. These flights get you there by noon-ish and may have a solid cost savings. o Per Mary – Possibly even more savings after all the spring break bookings these past few weeks An advantage to booking through an agent is that a small deposit is needed and then partial payments are allowed to pay for the rest of the trip. Therefore, you don't need to fully pay up front. Working within the group rate we can get round-trip transfers from the airport for $25, which is inexpensive

Question

Update from 4/16/2018

Answer

The contract that we have drops the room price between $21 and $36 per night. You will also receive $200 of resort credits per room to be used for spa services, wine, etc. To get these extras, you will need to use the blocked rooms through Mary from her company. If you forgot the room type you requested (garden view, swim out, etc), I can let you know. Also, make sure you request whether you want 2 queens or 1 king bed. In addition, we are purchasing ‘cancel for any reason’ insurance at ~$100 (includes both flight and resort).
