We'd like to think our "modern love story" truly embodies that phrase. Where’d we meet? You might be asking yourself. Well, it’s the 21st century — the internet, of course! Both of us were independently navigating the, well… interesting world of web-based soulmate seeking. After the lovely Audrey nearly backed out of our planned date, the lover boy Luke proposed… a FaceTime call. The two chatted for a record-setting eight hours, and the once hesitant Audrey confidently agreed to meet IRL. The two proceeded to spend the entire day people-watching over coffee, eating pizza served by an eccentric waiter, and finally going toe-to-toe in arcade basketball. The date concluded with both feeling there was that something about the other. DISTANCE BE DAMNED! Miles weren’t going to get in the way of a budding romance. We began our relationship almost immediately after date one. Following the commitment, a year and some change of Southwest flights to and fro were taken. Weekends, holidays, and occasional weekdays were spent together. Long FaceTimes daily closed the physical distance when the two were apart. Then, the Chuco native herself took the leap and moved to Austin. She settled into life in the city, patiently waiting for her Prince to pop the question. January came, and she got the surprise upon arriving home: there he was, taking a knee, and presenting a ring. Which brings us to present day — we’re doing it! Locking in for life, couple of ride-or-dies, ready to join forces as husband and wife.
