The Katsigiannis Wedding

Bill and Olivia first crossed paths in the junior year of high school through a close-knit group of friends. At the time, there was no romantic spark, or so it seemed! They were simply “cool” with each other, spending weekends and late nights laughing and making memories with their high school crew. What started as an easygoing friendship gradually evolved into something even sweeter. Those moments laid the foundation for a love story that would grow stronger with every passing year. Turns out, teenage hearts can surprise you because they’ve been best friends ever since. God had something planned for them always, but here they just couldn't see it yet!

During the early days of COVID, Bill, Olivia, and a few of his friends would still find ways to hang out. They’d chill together, do typical teenage things, and make the most of an unusual time. It was in those moments when the world felt a little upside down that their friendship grew even closer. Eventually, Bill asked Olivia to be his girlfriend. A simple question that turned out to be the start of forever. Neither of them could have imagined then how beautifully Christ would bring their hearts together and guide their story every step of the way.

Bill and Olivia had been dating for about a year when they realized just how deeply their relationship had grown into true love. In the beginning, things weren’t always easy, especially when Bill left for Cadet Basic Training at West Point. During that time, he asked Olivia to write an essay about why their relationship was worth fighting for. Putting her heart into words showed them both how strong their bond was and how much they were willing to fight for each other. That simple essay became a promise, a reminder that what they have is worth every mile and every challenge, and it only brought them closer together.

Since that letter, Bill and Olivia have remained strong in their relationship, now going on six years together, standing by each other through the ups and downs of college life and the start of adulthood. As student-athletes, they’ve learned how to support one another’s dreams, make time for each other during busy seasons, and grow together in faith. Through every practice, game, late-night study session, and quiet moments, they’ve matured side by side, always trusting that their love is part of something bigger. “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:6. Bill and Olivia continue to glorify and praise the Lord for He is good in every circumstance, and they know that every step of their journey is held in His hands!
