FAQs

Question

How do I book a room?

Answer

Slightly atypical process here - please reach out to Olivia or DJ directly if you would like to stay at Lyford. They will provide your name to the club, who will then be expecting an email from you (reservations@lyfordcay.com) to officially reserve your room.

Question

Does Lyford have a dress code?

Answer

Yes. A few rules of thumb - no denim or ripped/torn clothing of any kind. No hats indoors or at the Pool Terrace restaurant. Full coverage bathing suits are required When playing tennis, all white tennis attire, including shoes is required. At the Main Bar, men must wear button down shirts (sorry, no golf polos). Don't hesitate to reach out to Olivia & DJ if you have any questions at all!

Question

Where do I pick up my Lyford Cay Club Guest Card?

Answer

If you are staying at the clubhouse, your room card doubles as your guest card. If you are staying elsewhere, please go to the Lyford Cay front desk upon arrival to obtain one. The club restaurants and amenities will not accept credit cards or cash payment, so your guest card will serve as your method of payment while on club grounds.

Question

Do I need foreign currency?

Answer

No, the Bahamian dollar is tied to the US dollar so no need to exchange.

Question

Can I rent a golf cart?

Answer

Yes (though not required!) Who doesn't love a little joy ride. While all of our wedding events will take place within Lyford Cay Club, golf cart rentals are available for a daily rate. If you do decide to cruise around, don't forget to drive on the left side of the road in the Bahamas! Please contact the golf shop: golf@lyfordcay.com or 242-362-7540

Question

What's a 'Rum Dum'?

Answer

The signature cocktail of Lyford Cay created over 4 decades ago by Wilfred Sands (RIP) and still enjoyed by guests today. You're going to love it!
