For those travelling from out of state or internationally you need to fly into Cairns airport, it has an international airport, however you can also fly from almost anywhere in Australia to get to Cairns directly. The drive from Cairns to Port Douglas is the most exquisite one hour drive with ocean and beach front waves crashing by the road or short drives through the rainforest. You can hire a car at the airport (book online in advance for cheaper rates), catch a Black & White taxi (call 131008 - approx $100), book an Uber or there are shuttle bus options https://www.cairnsairportshuttle.net/ For accomodation you can book in Mossman, Newell Beach or Port Douglas. Mossman & Newell Beach are limited in things to do & will most likely only offer motel or AirBnB accommodation. Port Douglas will cater to every budget & has a hub of cafes, restaurants, shops & tour activities & is a really pretty place to be. Weather will be 17-25 (C) & 70-80 (F).
