A Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is needed to arrive in Malaysia. This needs to be completed online within 3 days of your arrival into Kuala Lumpur. This is free of charge and needs to be completed for each passenger.
Malaysia is a majority Muslim country therefore modesty is advised. When visiting temples across Malaysia and South East Asia, shoulders and knees must be covered. That being said, Kuala Lumpur is a very cosmopolitan city and people dress for the weather. Shorts and t-shirts are perfectly fine when out and about.
Using Grab (Asian Uber) is the most convenient way to get around both KL and Langkawi, with prices being very cheap and drivers easily accessible. Alternatively, Kuala Lumpur has a fantastic AC metro service that allows for transport to and from the city. Prices are extremely reasonable and timings are consistent.
We have suggested different hotels for two places in Kuala Lumpur. Chinatown, KL - bustling, fake markets, bars, cafes. KLCC - Views, restaurants, city vibes.
We are advising all guests to arrive in Langkawi around Tuesday 30th March. Langkawi is a 40 minute flight from Kuala Lumpur. We would advise people to fly from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang) as this is a closer airport however these flights may be more expensive. Alternatively, you can fly from KLIA. A MDAC is not needed to arrive in Langkawi.
As part of the wedding, guests have been booked a 2 night stay at Temple Tree Resort for the night of the 1st and 2nd April. We would love guests to book an additional night at this resort for a day of celebration after the wedding (night of the 3rd). We will reach out to you personally with the cost of an additional night here to carry on the party. If you wish to stay in Langkawi before and after the wedding, please see the recommended hotels.
There are so many wonderful places you can visit from Malaysia! If you wanted to fly straight from Langkawi, we would recommend Penang - a historic island with colonial architecture known for its old town and local charm. If you wish to venture further, you will need to fly back to KLIA. From here, you can fly to many destinations across East Asia - Japan, China, Borneo, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and much more!
