Olivia's Version: When re-telling the short version of how we met, I like to tell people that the first time I saw Thom was on Nixon field playing frisbee. Which although technically is true, isn't the full story. The first time I ever saw Thom's face, I was sitting in my kitchen on Bagot street in Kingston swiping on the infamous Tinder dating app. Thom's bio said something along the lines of "Its all about the double income," and he had a picture of himself playing soccer and another one of him hiking. As a tenured soccer player, adventure enthusiast and someone who knew my career was going to be a big part of my life, I swiped right and our story began with a "MATCH." I was terrified to meet a man I had never met before one-on-one. However, the conversations I was having with Thom were incredible, this man seemed like my perfect match. Therefore, after turning down a date (just in case he was an axe murderer), I invited him to play on my rec-league Queen's frisbee team. To my surprise he showed up to my league's first game of the season, and he was even more handsome than his pictures. I was so nervous! Despite my loss of words our chemistry was undeniable on the field. Thom had a strong forehand throw and we made several plays together which resulted in end zone scoring. I still didn't know much about him but I will never forget the feeling I had of overwhelming nerves and excitement when I met my husband-to-be.

On the anniversary of when we first met, we went back to our old stomping grounds to do karaoke with friends. When "I'd Do Anything for Love" came on, we ran up to the front. When the music suddenly died down, I looked over and he was down on one knee. I screamed, shouted "YES," and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
