What is the order of events?

Are you registered for gifts or donations?

Answer

The greatest gift of all is your presence on our special day! If you do wish to bring a gift, we are registered on Amazon: (link coming soon) Or, should you wish to contribute towards our future we would be grateful for donations towards our future home down payment or honeymoon! A wedding card box will be posted at the reception ♥️

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

No, we are doing a phone free ceremony! Please keep your phones on silent/turned off and put away in your pocket or purse. We have hired wonderful photographers to capture the ceremony and we will share all of the pictures with you! Feel free to bring phones out again for the rest of the day :)

Is there parking for the ceremony / reception?

Answer

Yes, Tigh-Na-Mara has guest parking all around the resort, including right beside the ceremony venue. Please note that parking is limited so we recommend if you are not staying at Tigh-Na-Mara to please carpool and allow yourself time to look for parking in case the nearest lots are full.

Is it open bar?

Answer

Yes! There will be dinner wine at your table and the open bar will run from 6:30pm-11:30pm

What’s the dress code?

Answer

We’d love to see our family and friends dress up with us! Please note: - For shoe choice, note that you will be walking on grass and gravel at the ceremony - The Bride will be wearing white and the bridesmaids will be wearing green dresses, you are welcome to wear any shade or style of dress but ideally not white:) Thank you!!

Transportation from airport to Parksville?

Answer

For those flying into Nanaimo to join us, there are a few transport options to consider: - Taxis are available at the airport and to order (we recommend AC Taxi and Yellow Cab Nanaimo) - URide Passenger app is what the island uses instead of uber - Budget rent a car (located in the airport, we recommend reserving a car well in advance if you choose this option) - Talk to us! Us & our family in town may be able to arrange carpool pick-ups at the airport to transport guests to Parksville :)

Advice for if I drive and ferry out?

Answer

Prebook your ferry! Please be aware that this wedding date is during prime tourism season on Vancouver Island, this means that the limited number of ferries available can sometimes be sold out weeks in advance. Ferries also sometimes overbook, so be mindful of the possibility that you may be bumped to a later sailing that day. Ferry routes to Nanaimo: 1) Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay 2) Tsawwassen to Duke Point

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

No, we are only able to accommodate our invited guests. Thank you for understanding!

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes, children under 5 years old are allowed! Please reach out and let us know if your kids (5 and under) are coming and how old they will be as of June 2026. While we’d love to see everyone’s kiddos, this came down to budget costs and venue capacity. Tigh-Na-Mara is a very family friendly lodge and does provide a referral service for childcare providers! (If you would like to use this service be sure to call and notify Tigh-Na-Mara well in advance).

Is the Wedding outside?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony will take place outside, followed by an outdoor hour of bubbles&bites! The reception dinner and dancing will be indoors. Please be prepared for any weather as our ceremony will be outdoors rain or shine! This means you should consider bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, a sun hat, and an umbrella.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Please arrive at the ceremony at 2pm!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Since many guests will be staying at Tigh-Na-Mara, we are going to have to wait to see where everyone will be staying to make this decision.
