Thessaloniki is located in Northern Greece. The easiest way to reach the city is by flying into Thessaloniki’s Airport (SKG). From SKG Airport, the city center is a 20 minute ride via rental car, Uber, or taxi!
Thessaloniki is a very walkable city, and many of the main sights, shops, and cafes are close together. Uber and Freenow are popular, reliable and inexpensive rideshare apps, as well as a variety of Taxi companies throughout the city. The local bus network and the new Thessaloniki subway system are reliable as well! If you are looking for transportation assistance (i.e. personal driver, transport from the airport to hotel, etc.) Lori Chaba, our coordinated travel planner would be happy to assist you! Find her information on our "Travel" page.
We suggest staying near the city center. A list of accommodation recommendations are included on our "Travel" page!
We are still deciding which beautiful Orthodox church we will be getting married at. Stay tuned for more info as we continue planning!

Greece's currency is the euro. You can order euro from your local bank a few weeks in advance, or use your debit card once you arrive in Thessaloniki at an ATM (small fee associated typically). You can also bring US dollars and convert them to euros when you arrive in Thessaloniki (typically a fee is incurred here as well). Most shops & restaurants will accept credit card so we suggest using a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees.
