Important Travel Notice: World Cup Weekend Traffic
UPDATE: Panama v England Kickoff at 5:00pm Please plan accordingly for heavy traffic! Our wedding coincides with the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be hosted here in New Jersey. MetLife Stadium, located just a few minutes from our home, is one of the main venues and will be holding a match on our wedding day, Saturday, June 27, 2026. Because of this, the surrounding areas, including North Caldwell and the Meadowlands, are expected to experience significant traffic congestion, and there may be road closures or detours throughout the day and likely long delays. To ensure that everyone arrives safely and on time, we kindly ask that you plan ahead: • Leave earlier than you normally would, even if you are local. • Check your GPS on the day of the wedding for real-time traffic updates and alternate routes. • Allow extra time for parking. • If you plan to stay overnight, we recommend reserving accommodations early, as hotels in the area are likely to fill quickly during the World Cup

New York City is just a short drive or train ride from North Caldwell and is the perfect addition to your wedding weekend. We love spending an evening on Broadway—some of our favorites are Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Lion King. A visit to Little Italy is always a must; stop by Vincent’s Restaurant for classic Italian dishes and end the night with a cannoli. If you have time, wander through SoHo or Fifth Avenue for some shopping, explore Central Park, or catch sunset views from a rooftop bar. We also have been loving Dim Tai Fung, and you can’t forget their amazing xiao long bao! However you spend the day, the city offers endless ways to make your trip unforgettable.

Sleepy Hollow is one of our favorite nearby escapes, full of history, charm, and a hint of the spooky. A must-visit is the Phillipsburg Manor. Also downtown and lighthouse area where you can browse their unique bookstore and enjoy a cozy meal or drink at the tavern. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the town’s atmosphere, enjoy local flavors, and explore the area’s legendary history, including the headless horseman! Whether you’re drawn to the stories, the architecture, or just a charming place to relax, Sleepy hallow is full of magic, fun, history, charm, and adventure.
