The Butchart Gardens is a 121-year-old world famous 55-acre display garden located in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia. The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada, in 2004 for its one hundredth birthday.

The Royal British Columbia Museum has many displays and rotating exhibits relating to the province and beyond. There is also an IMAX theatre. Nathan has worked with the Natural History Collections here throughout his PhD.
