Michael proposed to Olivia the day after her 21st birthday. He wanted to propose on her actual birthday but it was a Thursday and she had a nursing school exam the next day on Friday. So he decided to wait. He planned out the proposal for weeks. He wanted to do it at Margaritaville, one of their favorite places to go on the San Antonio Riverwalk. He arranged for all of their friends to be there as well as his cousin’s family and his Aunt and Uncle who were visiting from Florida at the time. Olivia’s family could not be there unfortunately but Michael had already asked her dad for permission a few months prior during a visit they took to Houston. Olivia had no idea he was going to propose. She just thought everyone was going out to dinner to celebrate her birthday. She thought he was going to propose a couple months later while they were on vacation in Florida. During dinner Michael suggested Olivia open her presents but save his for last. When she finally got to his, he handed her a card and told her to read it. She opened up the card not thinking anything of it. She started to tear up reading the beautiful words he had written about her and the last sentence of the card said “alright honey now I need you to turn your whole body to the side that I’m standing on… oh and brace yourself” And there Michael was down on one knee asking her to marry him. She of course said yes and he put the ring on her finger. Her engagement ring was everything she could have ever wanted and more. Their friends were able to film the whole thing so all of their family could see it. It was a beautiful night and one they both will cherish for the rest of their lives.
