We met at Dixie State University (now Utah Tech University) after a chance encounter with neighbors who asked to retrieve a Bible that had landed on our patio (They threw it down to get our attention). That introduction led to a lasting connection. We began dating in 2019 and navigated the challenges of long‑distance life during the COVID‑19 pandemic, frequently traveling between Utah and California as restrictions eased. Mathu later graduated from Utah Tech, after which he returned to California to begin his career with the Los Angeles County, while Olivia continued her studies. Despite ongoing distance, we remained committed, making frequent trips and planning our future together. After graduating, Olivia moved to California and began her career with Los Angeles County. Mathu has since earned his master’s degree, and Olivia is expected to complete hers by the end of 2026. We have been fortunate enough to travel and have been to Mexico, England and France and plan to go to many more destinations! We are deeply grateful for the support of our family and friends and look forward to our future together.
