Leif & I met back in middle school. We had a crush on each other but of course I was scared and ran away at the 7th grade dance. Fast forward to college, specifically the summer after our freshman year (2016) and the rest is history.

For those of you who aren't aware I spent my ENTIRE Sophomore year of college chasing Leif, doing everything I could to get him to date me. Everyone said I was crazy but back then I knew we were something special (I think Leif knew it too). I changed my class schedule to be the same as his so we could ride the bus together, I would show up at his apartment unannounced and make him hang out with me. I did literally anything I could if it meant spending time with Leif. Finally (10 long months later) he asked me to be his girlfriend. I knew this day would come eventually but I will never forget that day and how special and surreal it actually was!

Leif had been planning on proposing for a few months at this point. I, however, made this very difficult for him. He had planned to do a picnic the following weekend from the actual date and ask me then. I insisted we go on a picnic this day because we had nothing better to do. Plans changed and Leif managed to throw everything together last minute. We went to the Raleigh Rose Garden where Leif proposed, it was sweet & special. I of course, said YES!
