This is the area closest to the wedding festivities! Downtown Carlsbad ("The Village") has coffee shops, shopping, and restaurants. This is the closest beach access to the wedding venue.
This is the beach town we frequent the most! Seagrove Park is right next to the downtown area and offers a beautiful grassy area to sip on coffee (Better Buzz is a local favorite nearby), enjoy lunch, some gelato (An's Hatmakers) or take in the views. Walk down to the beach at nearby Powerhouse Park too! If you are an early riser and a fellow dog lover, head down before 8 AM to Dog Beach to see all the pups running and enjoying the ocean!
Solana Beach is a great beachside town between Carlsbad and Del Mar. Grab a beer and/or a bite to eat from Pizza Port, check out Gelato 101, and be sure to walk over to Fletcher Cove! The main area of Solana Beach is Cedros Street which is home of the design district. You'll find gorgeous interior design stores, a Sunday farmers market, and boutiques. If you're feeling more adventurous, Annie's Canyon Trail is nearby: it's about a 2.3 miles long and takes you through a slot canyon!
La Jolla is home to the famous seals! You'll likely find them bathing on the rocks of La Jolla shores. This area is known for its art galleries, cute shops, cliffside views, and unique restaurants. A few of our favorites include: Blue Whale, La Dolce Vita [our first date spot], Cody's, and the Sunday morning farmer's market! Not far from here is Torrey Pines (for some ocean view hiking) and the Gliderport. Both areas have gorgeous views of the cliffside including the paragliders on a nice breezy day.
Head down to Coronado Island to wander around the gorgeous Hotel Del Coronado property, walk in the cute shops, enjoy the beach front view, and soak up the sunshine! This is where we got engaged; it's one of our favorite spots to take visitors.
