We met as most people do, in the prime dating time of our lives...elementary school soccer practice that is. Kamden had a white blonde Justin Bieber bullcut that drove all the ladies wild and Olivia had not yet figured out that the bright yellow soccer socks were not meant to be worn over the knee. From there years went by and Olivia desperately tried to make Kamden her friend (I guess the bullcut pulled) and Kamden desperately didn't know how to talk to girls (it might have just been Olivia's blue hair though). Then highschool came and Kamden moved away. However, this did not stop Olivia because she was determined to make this man her friend. So she talked and talked and talked to Kamden for 3 years. She just wouldn't shut up. Finally, after 3 years of pursuing that friendship, imagine Olivia's astonishment when Kamden told her he liked her. Now imagine Kamden's shock when Olivia liked him back. Three months later Kamden asked if "hypothetically" it would be too early to say "I love you." Olivia did not think it was, for she was very much in love with him. That night we decided that in "4 or 5 years" we would get engaged. We welcome you to that next chapter in our lives.
It was an average Tuesday afternoon at work for Olivia when Kamden texted and asked if she wanted to go to Frederik Meijer Gardens before their dinner date night. This was not weird because the dinner was already planned and they had tried to go to the gardens before but it had been closed. Olivia agreed and wrapped up things at work and headed home. Little did she know that Kamden was already at her apartment decked out in his favorite shoes and pants with an engagement ring he had received the day before burning a hole in his pocket. Olivia got home, took one look at the shoes, and knew exactly what was happening. While Olivia scrambled to find nicer clothes, Kamden tried to better hide the ring box in his left pocket. Once they got to the gardens Olivia pointed out every single plant there that she owned and Kamden frantically tried to hide the left side of his body. And so they walked for an hour, listening to the concert that played in the gardens until they found a koi pound. Olivia immediately started standing on the edge of the pond and talking to the chunky koi fish. While Olivia was facing the pond Kam dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring and said, "liv?". Olivia turned around, took one look at him, started sobbing, and fell down busting her knee on the rocks. Kamden's only response was "oh you're already crying." Other words were said, none of which either of us can remember. And thus we were engaged, 3 and a half years after we started dating. This time with busted knees and better haircuts.
