Olive has grown up in Lewes and if you know her at all, you know she loves the beach. Children's Beach House is a non-profit organization that "continues Miss Lydia’s vision to help children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities." We chose CBH as our venue because of it's unique location and even more unique mission. The proceeds we have put towards this venue will serve these children in the local community, which is a huge factor for our choosing it. I would highly encourage you to check out CBHinc.org and read more about this place. We are so glad you are part of our lives and can experience this with us!
"Joe," as I call him, and I were in the same friend group at college. We started talking more and more, but I couldn't admit that I liked him. One weekend in September during our Sophomore year, Allie came up to visit. It was one of those lightbulb moments because she told me very boldly in her most Allie fashion: Olive, you should date Joe. He could be your "cup of Joe." And, if you know me, and Allie does, I sure do love coffee and I sure do love Joe.
I remember when Joe texted me and asked if I wanted to "go for a drive." Of course, I think we all knew what this meant. I didn't respond for over an hour because I was too nervous for things to "change." He says he was more nervous to tell me he liked me than he was to go on our first date. I think all the nerves were just happy butterflies and I still remember them from our first date at Cheddar's. The rest seems to be history.
During quarantine, we hadn't gone out for a date in a very long while, but on this particular Sunday, Joe said we were gonna go out for a nice date! I didn't think a whole lot about it because he was very nonchalant and relaxed all day. We went to church. We went to Uncle Will's house and hung out at the pool. The weather couldn't have been better. We got dressed and set off on our date at 6pm. Though the sushi bowl restaurant was closed, we were able to wait a half hour to get some takeout pizza. Surely, I thought, if anything were going to happen, the plans would be foiled because we had to wait for pizza! We went out to the Reservoir and had a picnic by the water. Then, we were supposed to go out to the Wrisley's house at around 8pm to play cards. (We didn't play cards in case you're wondering). When we pulled up to the house, Joe wanted to go look at the flowers the Wrisley's planted next to the pond, despite my persistence in needing to go inside and use the bathroom. He moved swiftly and led me out to a lantern lit, rose petal strewn, absolute dream proposal. Through the tears I said yes. We were able to share our engagement with close friends and family, and we'd love nothing more than our wedding to be the same. We look forward to sharing our day, our love, and life with you!
