We met in May 2016 during Army advanced training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. So many things had to go wrong in order for us to meet. After that, things went right and became better than we could've imagined. Despite Jonathan's request to be stationed in the Southeast, he was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Lakewood, WA. Olivia was also in the middle of her freshman year at the University of Washington in Seattle. Suddenly, dating beyond training was an actuality! We spent the next 4 years commuting between Seattle and Lakewood, between Army and school responsibilities. In 2020, we both got out of the Army, Olivia graduated with her bachelor's from UW, and we moved in together! During a global pandemic, we were in bliss. We then both went back to school, expanded our family with our cat Luna, and we continued to grow in our goals and as a couple. After working for a year post graduations, we decided to take the next step together. Jon proposed during a trip to Mount Rainier National Park on August 30, 2025. Olivia proposed back in a special neighborhood park on September 24, 2025. We can't wait for our loved ones to join us next year in celebrating our wedding! The Lodge at Malibou Lake 2027!
