Things To Do
April is one of the best times to be in Austin - warm days, cool evenings, and the city at its best. Below are a few of our favorite ways to experience Austin, all places we truly love.
Spend time outdoors along the Lady Bird Lake Trail, at Zilker Park, or hiking near the water at Emma Long Metropolitan Park, one of our favorite escapes in the city. A dip at Barton Springs Pool is also a classic Austin experience.
For shopping and strolling, South Congress is a must, with its mix of elevated boutiques, restaurants, and coffee spots.
Austin’s food scene is hard to beat. Some favorites include Franklin Barbecue, Terry Black’s, Matt’s El Rancho for Tex-Mex, and ABA for Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a beautiful setting.
Live music is everywhere, but for a more classic Austin feel, we love The Continental Club and The Mean Eyed Cat.
For cocktails and nightlife, Rainey Street (yes — our dog is named after it) and West Sixth Street offer great energy in a more polished setting.
