our love story

If you ask Olivia: It was July 2016, I had just graduated uni and booked flights for six months time to go travelling around South East Asia and Australia. I moved back to Sheffield and started working back at the gym in my gap year. I was trying to pick up as many shifts as possible to fund travelling so moved around a bit and ended up at Ponds Forge. Before my first shift our mutual friend Nicole had said there was a guy that worked there who I'd really like and she wanted to set us up. I said I'd just booked flights to live my best traveller life and that I wasn't interested! Turns out I was. We dated for 6 months, I went away for 4 and we spoke every day. When I got home he was waiting at the airport for me with a bouquet of flowers and a basket of my favourite things. Fast forward to February 2020, James surprised me with a trip to Lake Como, where our love affair with Italy began. The bridesmaid gang (not that they knew it yet) had speculated that this could be "the trip" but I said I didn't think so. Valentines Day came and passed whilst we were away so I thought that any sign of a proposal had been and gone, we were just enjoying the most amazing trip. February 15th we took a boat up to Bellagio and overlooking Clooney's pad James got down on one knee. James had been feeling violently unwell all day which I sweetly put down to proposal nerves but turns out he was more than likely Coronavirus patient zero and the reason our country was placed into a lockdown. Fast forward to today, we got big girl and boy jobs, we bought our first home, we share the most beautiful daughter in Penelope and I will soon be a lucky step-mum to lovely Charlie. I am about to marry the man of my dreams surrounded by the people I love the most. Life is pretty good. ... If you ask James: In 2016 I was on holiday with my son Charlie in Cornwall when I received a text from a mutual friend by the name of Nicole. She told me about a girl she knew and that I should ask her out on a date. Annoyingly though she didn't tell me who it was but instead gave me her initials. Little did she know that I was an expert investigator and found her straight away on her Facebook friends list...safe to say I was looking forward to getting back home and getting my flirt on. We first met at Ponds Forge where I worked as a duty manager and she worked part time on reception. Yes I was technically her boss but I promise there was no abuse of power. Later that day I took the plunge and friend requested her on Facebook and the flirting began. After several dates Liv told me she was going travelling for 4 months. Safe to say this wasn't ideal but I knew that I was onto a good thing and told her that I'd be waiting when she got back. I think the moment she knew I was a keeper was when she returned back from travelling and I whisked her away to Blackpool for the night...smooth operator I know. Years have passed and our love has grown stronger. She is loving, caring and an amazing mother and I love her more and more everyday. We have our own home, our own daughter and an exciting life ahead of us and I have learnt never to take her back to Blackpool. I consider myself very lucky to have her in mine and also Charlie's life and cannot wait for you all to join us celebrating a beautiful day surrounded by loved friends and family. ... If you're here it means you're one of our favourite people in the world, lucky you! We can't wait to share this next part of our love story with you in our favourite country in the world, ti amiamo xxx
