How we collided

Olivia: Our story started with friendship first—long before we realized we were meant for each other. We were just two people who always looked out for one another. I probably should have realized Jimmy was the one for me the day he refused to let me walk through a mud puddle on my own. Instead, he swept me off my feet and carried me across it. But that was just who he was—he always took care of me, so I thought nothing of it. In our early 20s, we routinely performed “Promiscuous Girl” at karaoke nights. Neither of us questioned our song choice because we were having way too much fun performing it. Jimmy made everything more fun: shed hunting, grocery store runs, game nights, fishing—you name it. I thought he was the coolest. I even tried setting him up with just about every one of my single friends because that’s how special he was to me. Eventually, though, I figured it out. The reason none of those setups ever worked was because we were exactly what the other needed. James: The very first time Liv and I met was during prom night in 2015. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner with around 8-10 people. Her prom date told me she was a rodeo girl. I thought it would be a funny prank to tell the staff that it was Liv’s birthday since it was the first time Liv was meeting the friend group. Well, to my surprise, she didn’t shy away from the idea of saying YeeHaw in front of random people. Since that moment, we became great friends. Until our paths finally crossed and we haven’t looked back yet.
