Now, this trip to Greece was supposed to happen in 2021... so would he have proposed earlier? This is an extra special story because it involves someone who is no longer with us physically, but is with us in so many other ways, Jakes grandmother, Janice. I have the honor of wearing her ring everyday and this is the story of how. First, he had to get the ring, Janice left this ring for Jake to give to someone someday and it just so happens that this trip was that occasion. His mother, Lisa, very kindly brought it to Boston when I was at Petrillo's working one night and Jake played it off as "I didn't know, very last minute" plans. Next, asking my father...which he did not...BUT TRIED! My dad never got back to him to meet for lunch. Finally we get to Greece and we were there for a whole week and he said nothing, he sneakily kept it in his socks, in a t-shirt, in his backpack, which he would not let me touch. The day comes and we make plans to go to a winery; he uses the name Jake Petras and got us one of the best tables there. We sit, order some wine (liquors me up), and says "let's take a picture in front of the sunset." We move our chairs and he starts recording (that's when I knew something was up) he turns to me, opens the box to the most beautiful ring and says "will you marry me?" I cried (had a few drinks) we kissed and had the most amazing vacation of our lives...so far. So now, we want to share that amazing time with our closest family and friends for a week (or longer) that we will never forget! We want to thank everyone in advance for entertaining our wild idea of this destination wedding and we sincerely hope you can join us on this adventure!
