We met in the 6th grade, not knowing we’d ever see each other later on in the future. After 6th grade, summer school to be exact. He gave me a piece of gum on the school bus that year, and one of my friends said “it would be cool if you guys dated” I said “why” and she said “because you guys share a birthday”. I said “no way, when is your birthday” and what do ya know, same day as mine, same year and everything! After we got off the bus that was the last time I ever saw him, I thought about him for a week after, wondering where he went, but never seen him again. So I finish my 9th grade year at Portsmouth High School and we move to New Boston, so I start going to New Boston school, and on my first day, in my math class, I seen Herbie! I was shocked! I was like “wait, he looks very familiar “. Yep! It was definitely him! Who I had a small crush on in elementary school. It was so weird. I didn’t think he remembered me. Because we was kids at the time. So we become friends and start talking and everything , we only talked during school though, so one day after school I guess Herbie was walking home from school and he got hit by a car! I was shocked and like so worried! So whenever I got home I messaged him on Facebook (we wasn’t Facebook friends) and I said “hey I heard and seen what happened today after school, are you okay” and he replied and told me he was fine, just a little sore. Which I was relieved. Believe it or not him getting hit by a car hurt me so bad like I seen someone I loved in pain... but at the time we was just school friends. So we become friends and talk a lot, then one day he asks me out, I said yes, but was nervous lol. We’ve been together ever since, it’s been a very bumpy road, but I’m glad I’ve had him walk by my side, I love him with everything in me. I can’t believe we’ve been together this long, I never would’ve thought I would be marrying my best friend! Someone who was a stranger to me and I didn’t know I loved. It’s truly amazing.
