We met in October 2022 at a college pitch competition in Chicago. Erik was there representing The To-Do Dudes from Florida, and Olivia was there with OG’s Bakery from Michigan. We connected during the event and stayed in touch as friends, encouraging each other through business and life from two different states. In 2024, Erik invited Olivia to be the first guest on his podcast, Built From Scratch. That conversation turned into weekly calls that quickly became the highlight of our weeks. We talked about faith, goals, and the future. It was clear something deeper was growing. A few months later, Erik drove five hours to meet Olivia while she was visiting Florida, and from the moment we saw each other again, everything felt different. Exactly one year after that first podcast, Erik proposed, and Olivia said yes. What began as a long-distance friendship became one of the most unexpected and memorable adventures of our lives.
