FAQs

Question

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

The ceremony will take place on the Vanderbilt Terrace at the Grove Park Inn. To get there from the Main Inn Lobby (inside): Walk toward the Vanderbilt Wing. When you reach the Marketplace, take a right. You’ll see the elevators near the Gingerbread House display—take one down to Level 8. When you exit the elevator, go through the doors and take a left down the hallway. The Vanderbilt Terrace is directly ahead at the end of the hall. Need help? Don’t hesitate to ask the Front Desk, they’re incredibly helpful and happy to guide you!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please see the Travel section of our website for hotel recommendations. Alternatively, renting a house, Airbnb, or VRBO would be a great option, especially for groups or those looking for more space. This is Asheville’s busy season, so we recommend making reservations in advance!

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

What is the dress code? The dress code is Black Tie Optional, so feel free to choose a level of formality that you’re most comfortable with while still looking elegant! Men: A tuxedo is ideal, but a dark suit and tie are also appropriate. You can never go wrong with classic formalwear. Women: A long dress is the way to go, whether you prefer a formal gown or a chic cocktail-style dress. The key is to keep it elegant and celebratory. Footwear: Think dress shoes for men and heels or dressy flats for women. With the event being in October, the weather can be mild but may cool down in the evening, so adding a stylish jacket or wrap to your outfit might be a great idea! We want everyone to feel both comfortable and fabulous for this special day.

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome party?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi formal. We want everyone to feel comfortable but still look nice! For men, this could be dress pants or chinos with a collared shirt, and for women, a nice dress or a cute blouse and skirt/pants combo. Think relaxed, but still put-together.

Question

Is there a Registry?

Answer

Yes, see registry tab! We are also grateful for cards.

Question

What time should I arrive to the venue?

Answer

We suggest arriving at least 30 minutes before the ceremony starts to ensure you’re able to park, walk to the venue, and get settled in. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 PM.
